Choosing Components

Choosing three components for the BGS major is an important task, one that requires research and careful deliberation on the part of the student. Certain components may be difficult to complete because of restrictions imposed on non-majors during the early-registration period. There are also no guarantees that permission numbers are possible for some courses that are technically closed to non-majors. Some components that may require patience and diligence to complete due to departmental enrollment policies are: business, communication, and psychology.

Components and Courses

The BGS major is comprised of three components, each of which must contain 15 credit hours. Six hours in each component must be at the 3000+ level. The following chart shows some typical components (A&S, other divisions, and thematic) with possible courses for each.
