A graduation plan is the worksheet students file to declare and receive acceptance into the major. Students are eligible to create and file a grad plan after earning at least 45 credit hours. Students meet with the academic advisor to complete the graduation plan and discuss remaining requirements for graduation. An individualized electronic degree-audit is then created based on the graduation plan worksheet.
If the graduation plan is not filed by the time the student has earned 60 credit hours, a registration hold preventing enrollment in the next term is placed on the student’s myZou account. Students eligible to file a graduation plan should do so before Early Registration begins. For registration dates, see: https://registrar.missouri.edu/academic-calendar/
Course Scheduling
After meeting with the academic advisor and reviewing degree requirements, students use their individualized degree-audit to keep track of their progress and to select appropriate courses for enrollment. Students should prepare a tentative schedule before Early Registration begins. Students may email their tentative schedule to the academic advisor for review or discuss it in a scheduled meeting.
Graduation Check
After registering for their last term, students will have a graduation check to verify that the final courses meet all the requirements for this major, including completion of the MO Civics exam. They will receive information about commencement via email along with the final grad check report. Students should regularly check their MU email account for this information during their senior year. Students are required to apply for graduation.
