A graduation plan is the worksheet students file to declare and receive acceptance into a major. Students are eligible to create and file a grad plan at any time, but preferably should do so after earning at least 30 credit hours. Students meet with the academic advisor to complete the graduation plan and discuss remaining requirements for graduation. An individualized degree-audit is built using the grad plan worksheet as a guide.

If the graduation plan is not filed by the time the student has earned 60 credit hours, a registration hold preventing enrollment in the next term is placed on the student’s myZou account. Students eligible to file a graduation plan should do so before Early Registration begins. For registration dates, see: https://registrar.missouri.edu/academic-calendar/

Course Scheduling

After students meet with the academic advisor to review degree requirements and file their grad plan, they use their degree-audit to monitor progress and select appropriate courses for enrollment. Students should prepare a tentative schedule before Early Registration begins. They may email their tentative schedule to the academic advisor for review or discuss it in a scheduled meeting.

Graduation Check

After registering for their last term, students receive a final grad check to verify remaining requirements for graduation, including completion of the MO Civics exam. Information about commencement is sent via email along with the final grad check report. Students should regularly check their MU email account for graduation information during their senior year. Students must apply for graduation.
