Students from other divisions at MU (College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering, School of Health Professions, School of Journalism, and Nursing) who wish to transfer into the College of Arts & Science and pursue the Interdisciplinary Studies degree should be aware of the following:
- Students who have completed FEWER THAN 60 HOURS may initiate the Transfer of Division process and choose Interdisciplinary Studies as the major. The student should email the advisor and use MU Connect to schedule a ZOOM or in-person appointment. Students should read about the Interdisciplinary Studies degree prior to their first meeting with the advisor. The advisor will build a graduation plan and create a semester-by-semester strategy for efficient degree completion or transitioning back to the original division or another division.
- Students who have completed MORE THAN 60 HOURS, may schedule via MU Connect an initial ZOOM or in-person appointment with the advisor to discuss the major and develop a graduation plan. Students should read about the Interdisciplinary Studies degree prior to their first meeting with the advisor. Once the Interdisciplinary Studies grad plan is filed and approved, the student will receive an email invitation to transfer into A&S. Students must respond to the email in order to transfer division and declare Interdisciplinary Studies as their major.
- Under no circumstances will a student who has completed more than 60 hours be able to transfer using the online transfer of division process.
- No Transfer of Divisions are processed after the deadline determined each term by the Registrar. See Registrar.missouri.edu.
